Weddings.

BOOTH- COOMBE.

A very pretty wedding was solemnized

at the Methodist Church. Kempsey,

by the Rev. Kay Mason, on June 10,

1939, when Mavis Rose, only daughter

of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Coombe, Hol

man Street, Kempsey, was joined in

the bonds of holy wedlock to Cecil

Macleay Booth, second son of Mr. and

Mrs. Mark Booth, of lemagog, Upper

Macleay River. The bride looked

most charming, as she entered the

Church with her father, wearing a

beautiful gown of magnolia embossed

bridal satin, made on classical lines

and featuring a very smart train, fin

ished off with tiny satin. bows from the

neck to hemline. She also wore a

magnolia two-tier winged cut tulle veil

which was held in place with a coronet

of miniature -arums and orange blos

soms, which gave a most striking

effect. The bridal ensemble was the

skilful work of the bride's! aunt, Mrs.

R. Pallman, of Tuncurry; and the

dainty cushion of niched satin on

which the bride and bridegroom knelt

was her gift. The bride carried a,

beautiful bouquet of tuberoses and

cream, shrysantehmums. She was at

tended by two) of her friends, Miss

Mollie Budden and Miss Thelma

Booth, sister of the bridegroom, both

prettily frocked in blue satin, made on

classical lines with slight trains, and

headdress of blue delphiniums. They

carried lovely bouquets of pink sweet

peas, mounted on gold leaves. Joyce

and Beryl, small twin daughters of

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fellows, were

flower girls, most daintily attired in

frocks of striffened net over pink

taffeta.- Their headdress were sprays

of pink delphinium and watsonias.

Mr. Clarry Booth, brother of the

bridesgroom, was best man; Mr.

Percy Forrest, groomsman; and Mr.

Harold Booth and Mr. Wes Booth,

ushers. Whilst the register was being

signed Mrs. R. L. Walker sang 'O

Love Divine,' and Mr. A. Secomb

was organist. The reception was held

at the home of the bride's parents.

The three-decker cake, made by the

bride's mother, was beautifully decorat

ed by a professional. Mrs. Coombe

received her guests, wearing a black

tailored costume with a shoulder posy

of red roses assisted b\r the bride

groom's mother, also in a black tailor

ed costume, with a posy of . cream

roses. The presents were numerous

and beautiful, and included several

cheques. The happy couple left for

the South Coast where the honey

moon was spent, the bride travelling

in a wine-toned frock with black ac

cessories, covered with a beautiful teal

blue coat, the muff and fur to match

being the gift of the bridegroom.
